Liverpool: Report reveals Klopp’s next two transfer targets after sealing £35m deal for Mac Allister
According to reports, Liverpool have two more midfielders on their radar after completing the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton for around £35m.
Liverpool swiftly turned their attention to Mac Allister after dropping out of the race for Real Madrid-bound Jude Bellingham.
The midfielder grabbed ten goals and two assists in the Premier League for sixth-placed Brighton in 2022/23 and he also helped Argentina to win the World Cup last year.
Man Utd and Man City have also been linked with the 24-year-old in recent months but Liverpool moved quickly to sign him ahead of their rivals.
The Reds benefitted from the £35m exit clause in Mac Allister to wrap up a low-cost deal and the signing was announced on Thursday morning.
The Guardian are reporting that Mac Allister ‘will not be the last Liverpool midfield recruit’ of this summer’s transfer window.
Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone and Nice’s Khephren Thuram are ‘also of interest’. Each player are likely to be available for less than £40m so Liverpool are continuing the trend of picking out potential bargains whose value can soar following a move to Anfield.
Liverpool have also been linked with Chelsea’s Mason Mount – who is leaning towards a move to Man Utd – but the report adds that they are ‘not expected to follow up initial interest in Mount having got Mac Allister over the line’.

As for Mac Allister, the midfielder has admitted that his move to Liverpool is a “dream come true”.
“It feels amazing. It’s a dream come true, it’s amazing to be here and I can’t wait to get started,” Mac Allister told liverpoolfc.com.
“I wanted to be in (from) the first day of pre-season, so it’s good that everything is done. I’m looking forward to meeting my team-mates.
“It was a fantastic year for me – World Cup, what we achieved with Brighton – but now it’s time to think about Liverpool and try to be a better player and a better human being every day.
“Since I won the World Cup, I said that I want to win more trophies and I think that this club will help me to do that – that’s the aim and when you are in a big club like this one, you have to win trophies. So, that’s what I want.
“Since I arrived here, I can see how big this club is – the players we have, the staff, everyone.
“I’m really pleased and looking forward to playing for this club.”
